A few changes are in the making as regards my research. It has been brought to my attention that I need to tweek my methods just a little in order for the study that I am conducting to answer my research questions. I adapt to change well and when you are a novice in such areas, it is best to get as much help as possible in order for your work to produce the best results possible. My study is taking the pathway of a cohort design...good stuff huh? I think so.
I have been looking at the difference between physical activity and exercise. Most individuals perform some form of physical activity, but not everybody exercises. Physical activity can be anything, even my moving my fingers as I type this post is physical activity. However that is not so for exercise. Exercise pertains to more structure and intention. I will be focusing on exercise and its effects on appetite and not just physical activity...yea that's another change...but it looks good thus far.
I had tried to create my own appetite instrument...did not work so well. So I will just go with an appetite instrument that has been used in previous literature.
I am going to have two training sessions in SPSS which is data collection, entry and analysis...I believe this will help a whole lot, I need it, I know I do.
Anyway..for now these are the few things that are out there...hopefully next time I will be stating that the plane has taken off and yepeeeeeee research is underway...but hey..its a work in progress and I of course must keep reminding myself that THE END IS NEAR...I should probably shout a little louder....T-H-E E-N-D I-S N-E-A-R!

ReplyDeleteI feel your pain. I'm having to do some research-method upheaval as well. In fact, I'm about to write a blog about it. :) Sounds like you're adapting well though...and yes, AMEN...the end is near! :)
